my house views
I have been promising to put pictures of my house on this blog, for some time, so now I am going to try and get them up here..
About two years ago, I finally decided to change the colours in the front room and the dining room to grey. I had it in a cream colour before, but after many years wanted a change and from the time we had moved in, I wanted to paint it grey. I am very pleased with it, but going to change the accessories later this summer, and am trying to decide what colour next to suit.. As I also love the colour turquoise, I loved the picture that I found on blogland.. and I think this room could do just that, these bright colours make this room sing, and that is what I want for my front room... gorgeous**
at the moment although the colours are fine, I think its a bit too bland and with the pop of colours in that other picture it would make my room sing too!!
As you can see its all very muted at the moment, and whilst it is calm and spacious, those colours of turquoise and even that bright spring green, would make all the difference I think.... I shall show you the dining room next which is in the same colour, but different accessories.. but that is a later tale... this is the first one for now.. comments always appreciated*

It's gorgeous now, Janzi. So very English and sophisticated. But I think you would be very pleased with those new colors. They would make it bright and lively through all the season. But no matter what that is a gorgeous room and I love the way you have the art displayed.
ReplyDeleteI love the shade of grey that you have used, it is one of my favourite colours. I particularly like that colour used alongside an offbeat shade of duck-egg blue, the two colours combined tend to give a room a touch of a Swedish style.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks like a show home. Just gorgeous. The turquoise would be a very nice addition,
ReplyDeleteIf you're going to keep the walls grey, I'd go for bright red and deep black accessories.
ReplyDeleteYour front room looks very serene and beautiful. Your fireplace surround is really lovely. I think bits of turquoise would look wonderful. Go with your heart.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing ~ FlowerLady

ReplyDeletethank you for your comments, great to have input... I will get the dining room up tomorrow and let you have a look at it.. think I might reverse those colours, leading with the bright spring green and turquoise accessories... we shall see... at the moment it is orange*
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Janzi.... so fun to see!:-)
ReplyDeleteyour house looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful room -- elegant yet very comfortable. I could be quite happy in that room. BTW, Janzi, turquoise is one of my favorite colors. I love color. In my previous home, my dining room had teal green walls.
ReplyDeleteCheers, M-T
When I looked at the first picture, I thought "That room would look good with some turquoise!"
ReplyDeleteAnd then I kept reading, :)
I love the crown molding AND that fluffy rug!
I love your house! Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely room, the turquoise and green would suit it. You've given me ideas for one of my rooms, thank you :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely rooms and colors. Love the windows. I cant wait to see the kitchen also.
ReplyDeleteI just changed out my bedroom from the warm colors of red to the cool, springy colors of turquoise and lime green...I love it...my walls aren't gray..they are a soft khaki...very light...which I love.
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty gray, too.
